The BLC Series Base-Load-Controller is micro-processor based and designed to control up to 31 base loads plus one SCR controlled load. Mechanically, it consists of two assemblies. The controller module (1 required) and the eight channel output module (1 to 4 required).

DIP switches allow the user to easily program for the number of base loads, whether or not an SCR controlled base load will be use and which control mode (up/down or circular) will be used. Potentiometers provide easy adjustments for cycle times and input/output analog signals i.e. 4-20mA. Diagnostic indicators indicate operational status.

When used with a zero-fired SCR Power Controller, Ametek HDR's Base-Load-Controller can help eliminate light flicker normally associated with large zero-fired loads. High harmonics and low power factor caused by large phase-fired loads can be improved using a base-load-controller combined with a phase-fired SCR Power Control.
